NEWS 240 : CEREMONIES FOR NEW STAR
Naming & Delivery of STRAITS STAR - 7,500m3 LPG Carrier
May 21, 2018 was the day for the naming and delivery of the S539, a 7,500m3 L.P.G. carrier ordered by Straits Star S.A.. The ceremony was attended by the guests, from her charterers, owners and other stake holders.
In the ceremonies, the ship was named "STRAITS STAR". When the tethering rope was cut, the 'Kusudama' - piñata like paper ball hung in the air - split open to let multi-colored paper tapes and confetti rain down, to cerebrate the birth of the brand new vessel shining in crimson!
After a short tour of the ship for the guests, at 14:30, STRAITS STAR blew the horns and set out on her maiden voyage heading her first strait - Kanmon Strait ! We wish all the best of luck on her future voyages
