- Oct 1942 : Established as Hikoshima Shipbuilding Company by the combination of five neighboring shipbuilding companies. Starts shipbuilding and ship repairing.
- May 1945 : Registered as joint stock company.
- Jul 1956 : fusion with Murakami Iron Works Co., Ltd. and changed the name to Murakami Shipbuilding & Iron Works Co., Ltd. Capital JY 10.5 mill.
- Jan 1961 : Changed the company name to Kyokuyo Shipbuilding & Iron Works Co., Ltd.
- Dec 1962 : Renewed the factory equipment. Capital JY 21mill.
- Dec 1969 : Bought a land of 60,000m2 at Chofu, in Simonoseki CIty.
- Jun 1970 : Capital JY 50mill.
- Jun 1971 : Completed the building dock (3,000GRT) and the repairing dock (3,000GRT) at Chofu works.
- Jan 1972 : Moved the head office to Chofu, where the company actually locates.
- Sep 1973 : Expanded building capacity* up to 4,500GRT.
- Jun 1975 : Expanded building and repairing capacity* to handle more and larger ships up to 12,500GRT and 5,200GRT respectively.
- Dec 1977 : Filed for relief under the Corporate Rehabilitation Law
- Mar 1980 : Rehabilitation plan approved by the Court. Reduced building capacity* down to 8,700GRT following the Government guidance.
- Jul 1980 : Capital reduction down to JY5mill.
- Jan 1984 : Changed the company name to Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation.
- Feb 1985 : Capital JY30mill.
- Mar 1988 : Reduced building capacity* down to 4,999GRT, again following the Government guidance.
- Nov 1991 : Expanded repairing capacity* up to 6,900GRT.
- Sep 1992 : Successful termination of corporate rehabilitation plan.
- Dec 1992 : Built all weather block assembly factory. Introduced NC Plasma cutters.
- Jul 1993 : Expanded building capacity* up to 5,999GRT.
- Mar 1996 : Capital JY 60mill.
- Jun 1997 : Expanded building capacity* up to 6,500GRT.
- Mar 2000 : Certified ISO 9001 (NK, JAB, RVA).
- Jan 2001 : Expanded capacity* up to 9,300GRT.

- Jun 2005 : Refurbished Drydock walls.
- Jul 2005 : Own power plant started running.
