Our strength lies first and foremost in our ability to build small-lot, high-value-added and custom-designed vessels. We have boldly taken on and completed a good number of challenging projects that other shipbuilders shy away from.

And it is our technical capabilities that make this business strategy possible. Despite the relatively small number of vessels it builds, Kyokuyo has a strong presence in the industry with more personnel in design and production teams than other builders of similar size.

We have earned a high reputation and strong trust from our international customers for our advanced technological capabilities, as exemplified by our signature SSS-BOW, electric propulsion mechanisms, and in-hold temperature control technologies.

STANDARD SHIP DESIGNS THAT SUPPORT THE WORLD'S LOGISTICS

While working on custom design projects such as versatile MPCs for European owners, SSS-BOWed container feeders for Japan's domestic logistics, and many others, we have also developed standard designs in the fields of container carriers and compact gas carriers.

For example, JAPANMAX - a feeder container ship design of less than 10,000 gross tons - is an established long-seller that supports container transport in East Asia, especially between Japan and China.

Regardless of the ship type, we incorporate feedback from our customers around the world into our lineup to regularly improve our standard designs and keep up with the latest shipping trends and standards.

CONTAINER CARRIER

Container Carrier is our flagship product. In particular, the JAPANMAX standard design is a long-selling model that supports logistics in East Asia.
LIQUEFIED GAS CARRIER

Our compact gas carriers are operated worldwide by major international operators. The lineup includes full pressurized and semi-refrigerated designs.
REEFER SHIP

A variety of choices to meet your needs, including ultra-low-temperature types that keep seafood fresh and designs optimized for both onboard processing and fish tendering at sea.
CEMENT CARRIER

Highly automated cement carrier with flexible layouts of mechanical or pneumatic cargo handling systems, designed by Kyokuyo based on your needs.
ADVANCED COASTAL SHIPS

Kyokuyo is regularly building unique and advanced products for coastal service around Japan. Ideal for your short-distance transportation needs with frequent cargo loading/discharging.
CUSTOM MADE SHIPS

REPAIR & MODIFICATION SERVICE

Kyokuyo owns a 125m x 21.4m repair dock and provides services for regular surveys, modifications, marine casualties and on-site offshore repairs. Always closely working with our design and production teams, we offer the best service, quickly and flexibly.
