Let us introduce the driving force that makes us what we are.
What do people in Japan and around the world think of Kyokuyo Shipyard? There should be many answers, such as "a company that builds unique vessels," "a company that developed a ship with a round bow," or "a company actively involved in international projects." However, there is no doubt that one of the top answers in a survey would be "a shipbuilder with excellent design capabilities."
The world's first spherically-bowed ship; PCCs with all-electric cargo equipment onboard; the largest container ships in Japan's coastal shipping history; open-hatch MPCs with the widest opening in its class; full-reefer container carriers - we have been involved in and completed many challenging projects. The basis for our successes is our company policy that emphasizes the ability to think out of the box and the steady efforts of research and testing.
Our strategy of product mix and targeting of niche markets is only possible with our design capability and craftsmanship to materialize the designs. Kyokuyo will continue to leverage its technological prowess to provide unique and advanced products to shipping companies around the world.
Kyokuyo has devised the concept of a "three-segment ship" as a proposal for a low-carbon society. The concept can be applied to a wide range of ship types and fuels, and utilizes our patented spherical bow technology.
This concept was adopted by the Nippon Foundation as part of its "Development and Demonstration Grant Program for Advanced Vessels," and its development began with a gas-fueled LPG carrier.
Kyokuyo has taken a strong step toward the realization of zero-emission small merchant ships, which is said to be difficult to achieve from an economic standpoint.
We will continue to work with marine equipment manufacturers to present realistic product designs that meet the needs of our customers and society to show our commitment to sustainability.
