On April 1, as the wave of cherry blossoms was moving across the northern part of Japan, new employees arrived at Kyokuyo.
This year's annual training for new recruits at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center (ORSC, Saiki City, Oita Prefecture), has been completed and a graduation ceremony was held on June 30.
On April 3, along with the blooming of the cherry blossoms, eight new employees brought a spring breeze to our company.
On June 30, 2022, nine new employees of Kyokuyo returned to Shimonoseki City after completing three months of training in shipbuilding skills at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center (ORSC, Saiki City, Oita Prefecture).
The cherry blossom season has come again.
On April 1, the "New Hiring" day in Japan, we welcomed 12 new members to Team Kyokuyo.
Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation welcomed 4 new employees on April 2. It was a beautiful, sunny day with glorious cherry blossoms that had bloomed earlier than usual.
Do you know Japanese school year ends in March and most of Japanese companies hire March graduates to join them in April? Kyokuyo Shipyard is no exception, as the company welcomed 7 new recruits this April.
In this issue we will introduce new employees who joined Kyokuyo this April. This year, we welcomed 5 new comers, including 2 college graduates (photo : below) who have just completed in-house training programs for 2 months.
On November 7, 2014, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation conducted its biennial fire drill under the leadership of Shimonoseki East Fire Station. It was a big program, which involved more than 50 staffs, including members of Kyokuyo's own fire brigade team. The fire station provided instructors and firefighters, a commander's van and pumpers.
It's April again and we are going to introduce our new employees. This year, we welcomed 6 fresh crew members.
On March 1, 2014, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation jointly organized a inter-company shipbuilding skills competition with Onomichi Dockyard, Co., Ltd. The idea of this competition, which was to motivate young technicians to improve their skills through exciting events, was born from conversations between the presidents of the 2 companies quite a while ago. Since then, the both companies have been working together toward the realization of this unprecedented competition.
This news follows up on the previous one that introduced you Kyokuyo's 6 new comers for 2013.
Kyokuyo's 2013 rookies include 2 MEng holders who have studied ocean engineering. We hope they will become leading players in our engineering teams and propel our technical abilities further.
Kyokuyo annually holds a basic emergency training for new associates and trainees from overseas, in collaboration with Shimonoseki East Fire Station.
As provided by law, Coming of Age Day is a legal public holiday in Japan on the 2nd Monday in January. In 2013, it falls on the 14th day.
On November 8, 2012, Kyokuyo Shipyard conducted a bi-annual fire drill in coorperation with Shimonoseki-East fire station.
Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation and its subsidiary Shosen Co., Ltd., are members of a local cooperative business association called "Shimonoseki Zosen Kanren Jigyo Kyodo Kumiai" (Shimonoseki Shipbuilding-related Business Association). One of its main activities since 2004 is the organization of an international trainee program.
