NEWS 139 : HOME AT LAST, WITH QUALIFICATIONS
Eight years passed since we established with other shipbuilding-related companies a cooperative which, besides operating group purchasing, runs an international training program.
Under its framework Kyokuyo every year receives several mechanicians from Chinese shipbuilding companies. After completing 1 month basic introduction followed by 3 years of apprenticeship in our factory, the trainees resume their work at the company in China for which they used to work, but with qualifications from us.
Recently we held a qualification ceremony, as 5th-generation trainees consisting of 11 members, 3 from Qingdao and 8 from Dalian, finished the program this year. After Mr. Ochi, the company's president, handed related certificates to each of them, 1 new qualified and 1 to-be-qualified-next-year won a big applause by giving a farewell speech in fluent Japanese. The ceremony ended with Mr. Ochi's words of appreciation and encouragement.
The 11 mechanicians look really, really happy, probably because they can finally see their family for the 1st time in 3 years!
We wish best luck and health to our Chinese friends who have finished the program, while we will do our best for the 6th and 7th (and 8th, expected to arrive here shortly) trainees can continue and complete their apprenticeship safely and happily.
