NEWS 289 : HEADING FOR A 100-YEAR BUSINESS
Every year in October, we organize the KYOKUYO OPEN golf tournament as an opportunity to directly interact with our equipment suppliers and other business partners. Each time, at the conclusion of the event, our president has given a speech on the company's current status, including business performance, order situation, and future prospects. However, due to the Covid-19 disaster, KYOKUYO OPEN has been cancelled for 2 years, so we have decided to hold a special briefing session to give such information to our business associates.
On the day of the event, 113 people from 91 companies from Yamaguchi and Fukuoka prefectures attended in person, while 89 people from 78 companies watched the session remotely. After Norihiko Harada, Vice President of the company, who served as the moderator, first expressed the gratitude for the participation, the baton was passed to Katsuhiko Ochi, President, who was the main speaker.
Ochi talked about :
- The history of the company from its establishment to the present ;
- The number of employees over the last 10 years ;
- Risks inherent in the shipbuilding industry and Kyokuyo's current situation ;
- Kyokuyo's management strategy and goals ;
- Performance forecast, and
- Recent topics and future initiatives.
Ochi concluded the meeting by introducing each of the company's directors and general managers, along with their respective role and expectations. While the COVID-19 outbreak has been slow to subside, we would like to thank the many people who participated in the event.
The session was recorded and shown to the employees of Kyokuyo and our subcontractors, who were unable to attend the briefing. The fact that more employees than expected watched the video has renewed the management team's determination to work even harder.
The year 2022 marks the 80th anniversary of Kyokuyo. Aiming to be a business that will last for more than a century, we will keep on navigating as a reliable shipbuilder. We appreciate your continued support!
