NEWS 326 : THE FINAL RUNNER CROSSED THE FINISH LINE!

Naming & Delivery of S575, 1,096TEU Container Carrier A KAKOGAWA
The naming and delivery ceremony for S575, a 1,096 TEU container carrier, took place on September 19. This vessel is the last in a series of eight vessels that have been built over the past two years. She is our final relay race runner who reaches the finish line.

NEWS 322 : SEVEN SAMURAI RETURNED

From Vocational Training at Oita

On June 28, we celebrated the graduation ceremony of the annual training program for new recruits at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center (ORSC) in Saiki City, Oita Prefecture. Seven of our new recruits returned safely with a slightly more mature look (one with blond hair) after completing the three-month training program that began on April 4. Reflecting their efforts and struggles, their work uniforms seem to be dirty again this year.

The Japanese custom of hanami, or cherry blossom viewing, where parties are held under the cherry blossoms in full bloom, is well known. The spring cherry blossoms, which bloom and fall at the same time, have long held great significance in our culture as a symbol of beauty and transience.

NEWS 319 : ON A STILL CHILLY EARLY SPRING DAY

Naming & Delivery of 1,096TEU Container Ship "A ROKKO"
According to the traditional Japanese calendar, which originated in China, Risshun, or the beginning of spring, was celebrated on February 4 this year.

On February 20, when it was still chilly although it was supposed to be spring, the naming and delivery ceremony for S574, the fifth ship in the series of 1,096 TEU container carriers, was held. For Kyokuyo, this was the first ship to be delivered in 2024.

On September 25th, with the autumnal equinox having passed and the arrival of autumn being felt day by day, the naming and delivery ceremony was held for S570, the fourth ship in the series of 1,096 TEU container carriers.

NEWS 312 : ON A SUNNY DAY AT THE END OF THE RAINY SEASON

Naming Ceremony for KAIFU, 1,096TEU Container Carrier
On July 18, the third in a series of 1,096 TEU Japanmax container ships, code-named "S569", was named and delivered in a ceremony blessed with fine weather in the last days of the rainy season. The ceremony was again attended by guests from NEW GENERAL AVIATION INTERNATIONAL PTE.LTD., the owner of the vessel, and ITOCHU Corporation.

On May 10, the naming and delivery ceremony for the second ship in the series of 1,096 TEU container carriers, "A WASHIBA" took place in even better weather conditions than the previous ceremony. The event was attended by guests from New General Aviation International Pte. Ltd., the shipowner, and ITOCHU Corporation.

On October 13, the naming and delivery ceremony for vessel S565 was held on a clear and calm autumn afternoon. This ship was a 1,096 TEU JAPANMAX container carrier ordered by ERASMUS SHIPINVEST GROUP (ESI), a Greece-based international shipping group.

Naming of 5,500tdw Cement Carrier SUMISE MARU NO.3
In August this year, a naming ceremony was held for the 5,500tdw cement carrier m.v. SUMISE MARU NO. 3, which was jointly ordered by Maruichi Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency (JRTT) . She is our first vessel built with Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co., Ltd. as cargo owner.

7,500m3 Liquefied Gas Carrier "BWEK BORNHOLM"
On July 29, 2022, a naming and delivery ceremony was held for m.t. "BWEK BORNHOLM" (S-563), a 7,500 cubic meter LPG carrier ordered by PROSPER SUNWAITO S.A., registered in the Marshall Islands.

Delivery of 205,000ft3 Ultra-Low Temp. Reefer SEITA MARU
Following the delivery of YOUTA MARU in February this year, the sister vessel SEITA MARU, a 205,000cft type refrigerated cargo carrier for Taiwan-based Koo's Shipping Company, S.A., was completed in May.
