Here, you can view all of Kyokuyo's life logs documented over the past 20 years. This is who we are.
On November 7, 2014, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation conducted its biennial fire drill under the leadership of Shimonoseki East Fire Station. It was a big program, which involved more than 50 staffs, including members of Kyokuyo's own fire brigade team. The fire station provided instructors and firefighters, a commander's van and pumpers.
Kyokuyo annually holds a basic emergency training for new associates and trainees from overseas, in collaboration with Shimonoseki East Fire Station.
On November 8, 2012, Kyokuyo Shipyard conducted a bi-annual fire drill in coorperation with Shimonoseki-East fire station.
Kyokuyo's long-awaited new office building has now been completed after 9 months of construction works. With the delivery done on July 10, our business operation in the new building started on Tuesday July 17, 2012.
Are you curious about what is going on with our new (office) building project, as reported in the news142? Yes, it is running as scheduled, with the old building completely demolished and bulldozed now. As everything is ready for construction works, we had the keel laying, err, ground breaking ceremony on January 20.
Now that more than 40 years have passed since Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation moved from Shimonoseki's Hikoshima island to Chofu area - its current place, we have decided to demolish and rebuild our main office building.
Every year, about 30 typhoons are born in the Northwest Pacific. Their route varies : some head to China, others proceed to Korean Peninsula, and several hit Japan also. The activity peaks in late summer when water temperatures are warmest.
As we reported in News047, the monster typhoon No.18 or Songda, which severely hit Japan in September 2004 reminded us of the saying "providing is preventing".
Our brand new in-house cogeneration plant was completed end of june and went on line on July 3.
Preventing fires is always top priority of manufacturers, and shipbuilders are not the exception. Because they are just like a savage beast always watching for a chance to attack, we have to be on guard all the time.
