NEWS 323 : WORK AND LIVE BETTER IN A SHIPYARD
In the spring of this year, Kyokuyo Shipyard implemented a significant increase and expansion of "childcare support," including congratulatory gifts for births and enrollment in elementary and junior high schools.
And now, in order to attract young people who will be responsible for the future of Kyokuyo, we have increased the starting salary for high school graduates by 14,000 yen and for college, graduate school, and technical college graduates by 20,000 yen. This raises the starting salary level to that of major companies in our region (for details on working conditions, please refer to the Recruitment Guidelines on the Employment page).
Meanwhile, as in the previous year, existing employees also received a substantial base increase (14,000 yen) this year. In addition, we are making steady progress in creating a better work environment through measures such as the introduction of two full weekends off per month and measures to encourage employees to take paid vacations without fail (Japanese workers are notorious for not taking the initiative to take time off).
Working in the shipbuilding industry was once considered to be hard and dangerous, but Kyokuyo Shipyard, as an international manufacturer, will take the initiative to create a comfortable working environment so that each and every employee can participate in production with a long-term vision.
