Now that an exceptionally long typhoon season 2004 has finally gone, with a new record number of typhoon landfalls, we have legitimate right to do something for recreation under this clear autumn sky!
The naming and delivery ceremonies for a 831TEU type container carrier, aka "SITC YOKOHAMA" was held on her board on August 26, 2004. She is the 7th sister ordered by SITC Maritime (Group) Co., Ltd.
In my last column, I told about the last battle fought by two samurai families more than 800 years ago, in Shimonoseki. This time, I am going to introduce another samurai battle, no less well known than the last one. It is the story about Ganryu-jima, or Ganryu island, very close to our location.

On October 10, a fine autumn day, the 42nd "Kyokuyo Open" golf tournament was held to celebrate the anniversary of the company's foundation.
On June 26, we completed the construction of a 834TEU type container carrier, S440, ordered by SITC Maritime (Group) Co., Ltd. of Qingdao, China.
