This year, the company hired no less than 14 new employees onboard Kyokuyo : 1 graduate from the National Fishery University ; 3 graduates from Shimonoseki Technical High School ; 2 each from Hayatomo High School and Shimonoseki International High School ; 1 each from Mine Seiryo High School and Onoda Technical High School ; and 2 from Fukuoka Prefectural Suisan Marine Studies High School as well as 2 new comers from other industries.
The hiring of 12 fresh graduates is an unprecedented MASS hiring since Kyokuyo's establishment. It is a part of an ambitious hiring plan in anticipation of the future decline in the workforce due to the aging.
President Ochi welcomed the new employees with his warm words of encouragement : "I hope you will build trust within the teams to which you will be assigned after training, pursue accuracy and speed in your work." The boss continues : "After you become accustomed to your work, take on challenges without forgetting the risk, but without fear of failure." "I sincerely hope that all of you, who have joined us today, will be able to play an active role in the company as soon as possible."
The university graduate will be officially assigned to a position after a month of in-house training. 9 of the 10 high school graduates who will be assigned to the Manufacturing Division will participate in a 3-month professional training program at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center at Saiki to acquire some qualifications essential for shipbuilding. On April 5, they attended the entrance ceremony held in Saiki. It was impressive to see their fresh and hopeful eyes.
