NEWS 110 : NEW ADULTS BORN IN NEW ERA
If you are a loyal reader of this site, you probably know the second Monday of January is Japanese coming-of-age day and we present a gift to the young employees of 20 years old on this occasion.
This year, presentation ceremony was held on January 8, the last working day immediately prior to the national holiday.
In 2010 we had 4 eligibles, all of whom are born in Heisei era. For those who are curious, the current era started in 1989 just after the death of Emperor Showa and 2010 is the 22nd year with Emperor Akihito. Since the Showa era lasted 64 years, all our other staffs belong to Showa generations.
Just like last year, all of the 4 are technicians who finished the professional training at Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center for 3 months last year. They are now working busy as full-fledged workers.
After a short ceremony where the company president Mr. Ochi gave them the gifts and warm words of celebration and encouragement, they returned to their places of work with a happy look on their face.
We wish them all the best in the future!
