On May 30, 2008 took place, at our shipyard, the naming and delivery ceremonies for a 847TEU container carrier S-478, 3rd of 4 sister ships ordered by China's SINOTRANS group.

This time, we are happy to have Mr. and Mrs. Miao Geng Shu, chairman of China National Foreign Trade Transport (Group) Corporation as chief guests. From Mitsubishi Corporation, 3 gentlemen including Mr. M. Ishii, Deputy General Manager assisted in the ceremonies. All the guests stayed the previous night at Kawadana Onsen, classic hot spring resort. We hope this arrangement offered to busy executives good though short relaxed moments.

When the godmother to the ship, Mrs. Zhang Shu Fang, the better half of Mr. Miao, solemnly declared ship name, S-478 officially became "SINOTRANS NINGBO" and won applause for its first time. The reception party commemorating the vessel's birth was bigger than those for elder sisters with 26 guests and other celebrants!

Now that SINOTRANS NINGBO made her debut, there remain only 1 sister. Kyokuyo will focus our efforts on making the youngest child best, just as we did for elder siblings.
