NEWS 238 : UNDER CHERRY TREES IN BLOOM
Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation welcomed 4 new employees on April 2. It was a beautiful, sunny day with glorious cherry blossoms that had bloomed earlier than usual.
Shotaro completed the Advanced Course for Apprentices of Seamanship and Engineering at National Fisheries University. Born in North Tochigi, he is very athletic, holding a ski instructor license. After extra years of study, he met again Masashi and 3 other old classmates who joined Kyokuyo in 2016 and 2017 (we have no plan to employ his old classmate any more!). Currently on OJT, the athlete is waiting for his assignment destination to be decided in May.
Kai is thin, but actually quite a tough guy who run-commuted to and from school everyday, during his 3 years of high school. Having finished welding engineering course of Vocational Training School in the Western part of Yamaguchi, he readily holds various licenses required in a shipbuilder's factory. So it's natural that he was immediately assigned to Manufacturing Division in the afternoon of the same day!
In his speech at the entrance ceremony, the president Katsuhiko Ochi encouraged the 4 young, fresh employees not to be afraid to challenge old thinking and stagnant styles. We expect our youngest colleagues will take a key role in bringing fresh ideas to the company!
