NEWS 275 : THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!!
The ORS center is subsidized by Oita Prefecture, Saiki City, and Usuki City, and provides various types of vocational education and training for those working for shipbuilding and marine equipment industries in the region and neighboring areas, with the aim of passing on skills and contributing to the development of the industries and local economy.
Its long-term training program, which is supported by shipbuilding-related businesses in the region, is considered as a very meaningful and important training program that allows those involved in shipbuilding to intensively acquire various licenses and qualifications that are essential for those working in the field.
This year, with COVID-19 continuing to spread, the classroom portion of the three-month curriculum was completed as an intensive online lecture in April, followed by two months of practical training at the Center, starting after the end of the "Golden Week" spring holidays.
After completing the two-month long training camp, albeit shorter than usual, our 9 new employees, now looking a bit more mature, were on their way back to their home with the 'Obachans' (=middle-aged friendly women) of the guest house "Kaizanso" seeing them off with tears in their eyes.
The nine rookies is going through a series of training sessions at each of the workplaces in the Kyokuyo's Manufacturing Division, and then their official assignments will be decided. We are sure that they will become a part of the core of Team Kyokuyo in the future.
