NEWS 305 : EIGHT NEW CREW MEMBERS ONBOARD
On April 3, along with the blooming of the cherry blossoms, eight new employees brought a spring breeze to our company.
This year, we welcomed a total of five new graduates: one each from Shimonoseki Technical High School, Hayatomo High School and Mine Seiryo High School, and two from Shimonoseki International High School, which made a big splash after winning second place in last summer's 'Koshien' - very popular national high school baseball tournament.
In addition, one Filipino engineer (who was hired after one-month training with us last May as part of an internship program implemented by the Cooperative Association of Japan Shipbuilders with support from the Nippon Foundation) and two talented technicians transferred from our family companies were invited, bringing the total number of participants in the 2023 entrance ceremony to eight.
At the ceremony President Ochi said, "As you join our team, I expect you to greet each other cheerfully, respect the guidance of your seniors, work hard to acquire skills and strive to become an active and independent member of the team as soon as possible." He also reminded: "Please do not forget to express your gratitude to your families who have raised you up to now, and be aware of your responsibilities as a member of society and a member of Team Kyokuyo."
The five new high school graduates who will be assigned to the Production Division were sent to a three-month group training program at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center (ORSC) to acquire various qualifications essential for shipbuilding work. They showed great enthusiasm at the ORSC's welcome ceremony held on April 6 at Saiki, Oita.
Okay, dear young colleagues, welcome once again to our company! Let's join forces as fellow members of Team Kyokuyo to take our ship forward to the seven seas!
