NEWS 351: BEHIND THE SCENES AT A NAMING AND DELIVERY CEREMONY!

KRY Yamaguchi Broadcasting Takes Viewers Behind the Scenes at One of Our Naming and Delivery Ceremonies
On August 18, KRY Yamaguchi Broadcasting featured the naming and delivery ceremony of a new vessel "GAS JOY" built by Kyokuyo Shipyard on its weekday news program, *kry news every.*

Airing from 3:50 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, *kry news every.* covers a wide range of stories from Yamaguchi Prefecture, across Japan and around the world, with a focus on "discovering Yamaguchi's future together."
Kyokuyo's New TV Commercial

For this special feature, the KRY crew followed Kenta Mashida of our Newbuilding Business Division throughout the day. The approximately eight-minute segment gave viewers a close-up look at one of the most important days in the life of a newbuilding - her naming and delivery ceremony - through the eyes of the sales team member in charge of the project.

Our news stories and videos often focus on the technical side of shipbuilding and the process of bringing a vessel to life. This time, we had an opportunity to show another side of our work: handing over a completed vessel to her customer. We hope the program gave viewers a glimpse behind the scenes of an occasion they rarely get to see, along with some of the excitement and nervous anticipation experienced by our team on the big day.

Working at a shipyard involves much more than simply building ships. Maintaining relationships with customers, developing business opportunities, designing vessels, procuring materials and equipment, working through detailed specifications and commercial terms, concluding contracts, delivering newbuildings, and providing product and quality support - every one of these activities plays an essential part in bringing a ship to life.

Sales, the job featured in this program, is where customer relationships and negotiations come together. It is a busy role that keeps our people constantly on the move, but working with customers on projects that will eventually sail the world's oceans, earning their trust little by little along the way, brings a sense of satisfaction and enjoyment that is hard to match - at least according to our own research!

Kyokuyo will continue to share more about what shipbuilding is really like and what we do every day. By giving our local community, and especially the next generation, a closer look at our work and the world of shipbuilding, we hope to create more opportunities to think together and, perhaps one day, work together.

Finally, we would like to thank the shipowner and everyone involved for their kind cooperation with the filming. In our next news story, we plan to bring you the naming and delivery ceremony itself from our usual perspective.
