On July 15, we had the hottest event of this.. already incredibly hot summer. It was (drumming) the 7th Shimonoseki Cutter Race ! If you still remember that the race is one of the big sport events annually hosted by our home town Shimonoseki, you probably remember also that the first ever challenge of our official boat team, "Kyokuyo Blue Stars", ended in bitter disappointment last year.

NEWS 241 : KYOKUYO APPOINTS 2 NEW DIRECTORS

Kyokuyo has today announced the appointment of two new directors. At the Board of Director's meeting and the shareholders' meeting that were held on June 28, 2018, the board and the shareholders approved the appointment of Norihiko Harada as Vice President of the company and Hiroshi Yoshida as Managing Director of the company, with immediate effect. Takashi Nagatomi, former Managing Director, has been reappointed as part-time Director.

On April 18, 4 young guys from Philippines begun working at Kyokuyo. They are interns under the Government's Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), who had completed their orientation courses - including lectures about Japanese language, business manner, traffic rules etc. - after their arrival in Japan last March.

Mr. Georgios Koutsoukos, or "Jooji-san" as we call him, is the newbuilding superintendent for Paradise Gas Carriers. As he is a ski lover, some of us invited him to go skiing, to make his long stay at Shimonoseki more enjoyable.

This time we opened the door for not only our employees but also families of subcontracting companies' staffs as well as students who will join Kyokuyo next April. As result, we had 52 participants, including parents, children, brothers, sisters, grandpas and grandmas! It's quite a big event!

A total of 110 players, in 29 groups, participated in the 56th Kyokuyo Open, held on October 7, 2016, at Shimonoseki Golf Club.

2nd Plant Tour Event for Employees' Family
