On October 29, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation delivered an 11,000m3 L.P.G. carrier, S520, to the owner Kingcraft Shipping Pte. Ltd. from Singapore.
Kyokuyo Shipyard delivered one unit of 11,000m3 liquefied gas carrier to the owner Kisber Shipping Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. The vessel, code-named S-519, and now named "Kisber", is a new design packed with new features that meet ever-changing industrial requirements of today's and tomorrow's merchant ship.
As explained in the president's new year statement, Kyokuyo is undertaking extensive improvements to its production process this year. The first result was the refurbishment of the pre-fabrication shop - the home of pre-fabrication team within Hull Construction Section.
In this issue we will introduce new employees who joined Kyokuyo this April. This year, we welcomed 5 new comers, including 2 college graduates (photo : below) who have just completed in-house training programs for 2 months.
2 weeks after the "mock" ceremonies, the real naming and delivery ceremonies for the 1,103TEU container carrier took place on March 27, 2014. The ship, or S518 as we called her, was the youngest of 2 ship-series ordered by TVL Marine (HK) Co., Limited.
Kyokuyo's first happy event for 2015 was the naming and delivery ceremonies for a 1,103TEU container carrier code-named S-517. She is the eldest of 2-ship series ordered by Taiwan-based TVL Shipping Co., Limited.

On December 8, 2014, took place the keel-laying ceremony for S521. It was the last building ceremony for this year.
On November 7, 2014, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation conducted its biennial fire drill under the leadership of Shimonoseki East Fire Station. It was a big program, which involved more than 50 staffs, including members of Kyokuyo's own fire brigade team. The fire station provided instructors and firefighters, a commander's van and pumpers.
October 15, 2014 was the day when Kyokuyo delivered S513 to the owner, KSC Shipping S.A.. Just like her elder sister S516, or Heung-A Young, she is a latest example of the builder's 1,103-TEU 'Japanmax' container carrier model and employed by Heung-A Shipping Co., Ltd. of South Korea.
Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation is happy to announce that Tetsuo Mitsui, its Senior Managing Director, received 2014 Kyushu District Transport Bureau Director-General's Award. The District Transport Bureau is an arm of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MILT).
On July 31, 2014, we held the naming and delivery ceremonies for S516, ordered by R&M.HG.WAVE.INC.. The ship is Kyokuyo's latest 'Japanmax' container feeder which has an impressive loading capacity of 1,103TEU with GRT being less than 10,000tons.
The keel-laying ceremony for a 1,103TEU container carrier took place on July 3, 2014. Code-named S517, she is the eldest of 2-sister series ordered by Taiwan-based TVL Shipping Company Limited.
3 Months after her naming, as reported in NEWS179, the gas carrier m.t. "ECO CHIOS" was completed on schedule.
Our last big event of the fiscal year 2013 was the naming and delivery ceremonies for S514, ordered by Belair Entertainment Inc., and the naming ceremony for the sister ship S515, ordered by Intergalactic Investments Inc.. Both of the vessels were 7,200m3 type liquefied gas carriers.
On March 1, 2014, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation jointly organized a inter-company shipbuilding skills competition with Onomichi Dockyard, Co., Ltd. The idea of this competition, which was to motivate young technicians to improve their skills through exciting events, was born from conversations between the presidents of the 2 companies quite a while ago. Since then, the both companies have been working together toward the realization of this unprecedented competition.
As reported by newspapers, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation received, on December 27, 2013, an order for a 540TEU container carrier from Kobe-based Imoto Lines, Ltd.
