Here, you can view all of Kyokuyo's life logs documented over the past 20 years. This is who we are.
Eight years passed since we established with other shipbuilding-related companies a cooperative which, besides operating group purchasing, runs an international training program.
On July 6 2011 was launched S500, the first vessel in 4 sisters of 6,600tdw RORO carrier ordered by a European owner. The ship marks Kyokuyo's return to the sector after its m.v. Yuzui Maru left the dock in 1995.

She is the second and the last of 2-ship series of Kyokuyo's self-developed eco-friendly ship with a semi-spherically shaped bow (SSS-bow) that reduces the wind resistance. Featured in TV and newspapers, the sisters are perhaps the most famous of the vessels we have ever built.
On March 8, 2011, container carrier S-498 was launched as scheduled. S-498 can carry as much as 1,022 units of 20 feet standard containers - the biggest number ever for a ship built by Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation. She will be delivered in the month of June, after outfitting process.
Our third news for 2011 is about Japan's "coming-of-age day", a national holiday we have on the second Monday in January every year. And every year, Kyokuyo celebrates its young employees who reach the age of 20 by offering small gift.
At the end of 2010, on December 22, we had a very busy and exciting day. It was the day of naming and delivery of S-493, Kyokuyo's "Semi-Spherical Shaped bow"ed eco-ship.
In every October, we celebrate the employees who reach their 10th, 20th (and so on) anniversary on the job. This year we have 8 eligibles, including our 3 co-workers who have been working for Kyokuyo for 20 years, and 5 for 10 years. All of them belong to Production Department.
On September 29, 2010 was born another 7,200m3 LPG Carrier. The weather was still hot but breezy and reasonably comfortable, compared to this summer's violent heat from which we still suffered one month ago, when we delivered her sister "SIVA CORAL".
September 11, 2010 is the day when everyone at Kyokuyo delightfully witnessed launching of the most original and sexiest newbuilding ship in its 68 years of history: S-493, "eco-friendly" car carrier with a futuristic "SSS bow", or Semi-Spherical Shaped bow, which we featured in News112.

On May 21, a surprise party was held to celebrate 77th birthday of Mr. Nobiyoshi Wakamatsu, beloved "superman" who still energetically works for Kyokuyo as technical adviser. The 77th birthday, or "Kiju", is a Japanese rite of passage which should be specially cerebrated.
On the last day of the previous fiscal year, March 31, 2010, took place the naming and delivery ceremonies for S487, our 3rd 16,000m2 type Pure Car Carrier ordered by Sumitomo Corporation for Norway's Gram Car Carriers AS.
