NEWS 297 : WISH UPON THE SHINING STARS
At the delivery ceremony, we welcomed Mr. Shimizu again, who has contributed to the realization of this project, as the representative of the shipowner. The ceremony was also attended by many guests, including Mr. Richard Koo, world-renowned economist and Vice Chairman of the owner and key figures of Makurazaki Fishing Port, Koo's Shipping's business partner in Japan.
We were pleased to have an international guest at the ceremony for the first time since November 2019 - Mr. Narin Niruttinanon of Thai Union Manufacturing. His attendance was a reminder to us that we are moving toward normalcy after the Covid disaster.
SEITA MARU, together with her sister YOUTA MARU, has already been active as the core of Koo's Shipping's fleet. We have repeatedly heard from the shipowners that they have really high expectations for the performance of the sisters. This is firmly reflected in the fact that Mr. Koo Kwang Ming, Chairman and the founder of the company, named each ship after one of his father's Chinese courtesy name - "YO-SEI" or "shine-star".
Finally, we would like to say that the only regret we have is that we were not able to meet Mr. Koo Kwang-Ming, the leader of Koo's Shipping Group, in person before the delivery of the vessel, as this project was based on remote communication during the Covid-19 era.
We are looking forward to visiting Taiwan as soon as it becomes possible to greet Mr. Koo and share in the joy of the delivery of YOUTA MARU and SEITA MARU!
