On Sunday March 15, 2015, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation conducted a "Family Plant Tour" special event, for which families of its employees were invited to come and see where their family member works and learn what they do.

J:COM Shimonoseki, local cable TV station, is running a program called "Iki-iki Shimin Kouza" (Be active! Open Lecture for Citizens) since 2007. Planned and operated by NPO "Iki-iki Monitaa Kaigi" (Be active! Monitoring Committee), lectures, in form of monologue or dialogue, are given twice a month by various guest speakers on a wide range of subjects, and are broadcasted as an hour-long TV program.

The 54th 'Kyokuyo Open' Golf Day
Since more than 5 decades, Kyokuyo Shipyard annually hosts "Kyokuyo Open" golf tournament on an autumn day, where we thankfully invite some of our stakeholders, including suppliers, subcontractors and service providers, among others. The 54th edition of Kyokuyo Open was held on October 10, the company's founding anniversary. No less than 122 players (in 31 groups) enjoyed a day of golf at prestigious Shimonoseki Golf Club.

2013 Kyokuyo Open Golf Tournament
Time flies like a golf ball and it's autumn again. Yes, in this issue we cover the 53rd "Kyokuyo Open" - a golf tournament we hold every year to express our thanks to the company's stake holders. This year, a total of 120 players, from suppliers, subcontractors, various service providers, gathered at the prestigious Shimonoseki Golf Club, to play the game in 31 groups.

Kyokuyo announced today that Shusaku Yamada, Managing Director, will concentrate on taking the lead in its material purchasing operations, effective September 1, 2013. The company's president Katsuhiko Ochi will directly take charge of Kyokuyo's newbuilding and repair sales operations, responsibilities of which were previously assumed by Shusaku Yamada.

Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation and its subsidiary Shosen Co., Ltd., are members of a local cooperative business association called "Shimonoseki Zosen Kanren Jigyo Kyodo Kumiai" (Shimonoseki Shipbuilding-related Business Association). One of its main activities since 2004 is the organization of an international trainee program.
